Nick Ashmore

Director

Nick Ashmore is the Director of ISIF. From 2015 to 2021 he served as Chief Executive of the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI). He originally joined the NTMA as part of the team managing the National Pensions Reserve Fund (NPRF) in 2006.

Mary is Head of Portfolio Management and Deputy Director. Mary leads the Portfolio Management team in the management of asset allocation, investment monitoring, risk and performance measurement as well as ESG oversight.

Senior Investment Director

Brian is a Senior Investment Director and leads the team making ISIF’s investments to support Scaling Indigenous Businesses. This includes investments in a range of growth equity, private equity and alternative debt funds, as well as ISIF’s direct equity and debt investments into scaling Irish businesses.

Cathal is a Senior Investment Director and leads a team with responsibility for investments in the Food and Agriculture sector. The ISIF Food and Agriculture portfolio covers a broad range of sectors and seeks to support Irish companies to scale and grow internationally using a range of tailored financial solutions.

Donal is a Senior Investment Director and leads a team responsible for the implementation of ISIF’s Housing and Enabling Investment strategy. This includes investments and initiatives across infrastructure, urban regeneration and both commercial and residential real estate with a particular focus on enabling the regions of Ireland to be engines of economic growth.

Paul is a Senior Investment Director and Head of Climate and Venture Capital. Paul leads a team focussed on ISIF’s climate and venture capital agenda.

Mikael is Head of Risk and Portfolio Construction for the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund. Mikael has overall responsibility for risk management, portfolio monitoring and performance analysis.

James is an Investment Director and is responsible for the overall monitoring and management of ISIF’s Irish Investment Portfolio from financial close to exit. Deborah is responsible for Sustainable and Responsible Investment at the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, working with the investment teams overseeing ESG and Climate related reporting and strategies.

Brendan is a member of ISIF's Housing and Enabling Investments team. Brendan works on the origination and execution of ISIF’s residential real estate investments.  This incorporates a blend of direct and fund investments across both debt and equity, all of which are designed to support the development of new mass market housing in Ireland.
